Jean Pedersen teaches how to capture the beauty of the human face and figure. By combining watercolor with other water-friendly mediums, Jean produces rich darks contrasted by extreme lights to create texture-filled paintings that convey the mood and emotion of the subject. Every aspect of painting mixed media portraits will be addressed, including compositional considerations, rendering the figure accurately and successfully combining different mediums. The book contains a special chapter on skin tones and how to create the right one for different ethnicities as well as a section on composition and design so the reader can direct the viewer's eye. 28 fully illustrated mini- and full demonstrations show readers how to paint a variety of people, sexes, races and ages.
