Peggy Hadden
Equally valuable to emerging and established artists, this practical guide discusses alternative means by which artists can build or expand their careers beyond the gallery market.
The useful information that fills these pages includes instructions for writing proposals and selling art to clients most artists would never consider approaching. Some of the ideas are: designing stamps for the U.S. Postal Service; selling art though architects and interior designers; placing art in corporate and public settings; and gaining access to online galleries.
Peggy Hadden is an artist whose articles on artist's career issues have appeared have appeared in many publications, including two anthologies, Getting Exposure: The Artist's Guide to Exhibiting the Work, and Getting the Word Out: The Artist's Guide to Self-Promotion. She has conducted workshops for Pratt Institute, the Delaware State Arts Council, The Lee Arts Center, Arlington, VA, the Queens and Staten Island Arts Councils, Henry Street Settlement House, and Art Initiatives in New York City. Her art is in seven corporate collections including Citicorp, Coopers & Lybrand, First Interstate Bank in California, and the Ragu Foods Co. She attended University of North Carolina in Greensboro and Parsons School of Design in New York.
She lives in New York's West Greenwich Village with an 80-pound dog who goes to sleep when the computer is turned on.
