This entertaining and informative coloring book, carefully researched and accurately rendered by artist Tom Tierney, invites colorists as well as fashion devotees to travel back in time for a captivating glimpse of the opulent clothing styles of the Victorian era. 45 illustrations, adapted from the pages of such vintage fashion publications as Modes des Paris and Harper's Magazine, reveal in finely detailed vignettes a wealth of fashions that feature the romantic look, the crinoline and the bustle. Focusing on styles from 1837 to 1877, the ready-to-color line drawings depict formal evening wear worn by a young Queen Victoria and Prince Albert (ca. 1837); a fur-trimmed cloak, as well as informal "at home" dresses, a host of formal suits for the men, and special occasion dresses for women. Captions describe, where possible, fabrics and colors of costumes and accompanying accessories.
