What Are The Advantages?

1. Frame with or without glass
Fredrix Watercolor Canvas is a durable woven material which is acid free and archival and can be framed with or without glass. To frame without a mat or glass, we recommend that you spray the painting with an artist quality UV finishing spray such as Krylon® or 3M®. With or without glass, the finished painting will offer a unique fine texture unlike any paper.

2. No buckling
Watercolor papers have a tendency to buckle when wet and require special care such as stapling or taping to a firm surface while you paint. Fred rix Watercolor Canvas sold in rolls or pads will require the same care, but the Archival Boards and Stretched Canvas will not buckle.

3. Great “Lifting” Ability
Watercolor washes can be “lifted” easier than on watercolor paper.
Unlike paper, Watercolor Canvas is more durable.
You can be quite aggressive with your adjustments and corrections.
In fact, you can even wash out your entire image and start over!

4. Durable
Watercolor Canvas will not tear like watercolor paper can,
so you can scratch it, scrape it, staple it, wet it and re-wet it and
it will not damage your canvas.

5. Paint on the edges.
With the pre-stretched canvas, you can paint on the edges,
and hang without a frame

7. Archival
Like all Fredrix artist canvas products,
Fredrix Watercolor Canvas is Archival.

6. Paint Large Sizes
For large paintings, Watercolor Canvas is available in rolls 58” wide.
