Review
Yesterday I received and watched the Jan Kunz video I'd ordered last week. It was well worth the money and my time. I've admired (and tried to imitate!) her work through her books for many years and so it was good to actually 'see' how quickly she worked, how often she had to go back to darken and/or touch up, and to watch her play around with the background before she was satisfied. She is good!
I especially loved that you included the tail end 'out takes' and to hear her laugh. I've heard she is a very warm and encouraging teacher, which really didn't come through the books or this video until then. It was great seeing her laugh at herself - and realize she makes mistakes, too!
Thanks for your hard work! I am glad I found your Creative Cat site - oh I just remembered how cute I thought that was in the end, hearing Jan's voice as she picked out the highlights of the eyes again, only this time seeing it happen to your logo kitty! - and I expect I'll buy another video some time again in the future.
After I've mastered watercolor portraits. Ha!
