by Marty Noble and Eric Gottesman
For nearly 50 years, W A. Bentley (1865-1935) caught and photographed thousands of snowflakes in his Vermont workshop. These photographs were remarkable revelations of nature's diversity in uniformity, with no two snowflakes alike, but all based on a common hexagon. Now over 120 of these intricate images have been adapted as line illustrations by illustrators Marty Noble and Eric Gottesman for this versatile design collection. An endless source of inspiration for artists, designers, and decorators, the copyright-free black-and-white designs are ideal for use in textile designs, on wallpaper, for needlework and craft projects, and in a host of other creative applications.
Dover Original. Introduction. Over 120 blackand-white line illustrations on 43 plates. 48pp. 8 1/8" x 10 7/8", Saddlewired, March 2001.
