This brilliant collection of paper dolls features a bevy of actresses who epitomize the dazzling Hollywood style of the 1950s. Eight paper dolls, expertly rendered by artist Tom Tierney, appear with three costumes each. Represented are songstress Doris Day, sporting a fringed ensemble from "Calamity Jane"; bombshell Ava Gardner, modeling a black satin evening gown from the noir classic "The Killers"; and sultry Jane Russell, vamping in a sequined gown from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." Outfits for Audrey Hepburn include an Edith Head creation of silver brocaded satin from "Roman Holiday" as well as a lavish confection of ruffled lace designed by Cecil Beaton for "My Fair Lady." A quilted dress from "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" appears among Jane Powell's outfits, while Debbie Reynolds' dresses feature smart frocks from "Singin' in the Rain" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," and the wardrobe for a radiant young Elizabeth Taylor includes wedding attire from "Father of the Bride." This fun-filled collection and its combination of cinema and fashion history will be prized by movie buffs and paper doll collectors alike.
