Dollar bill folding was first used by magicians for impromptu parlor magic. Today, money folds are very popular in origami, but very little has been published about the genre. That bodes well for this instructive, easy-to-understand guidebook. It offers clear, complete directions for learning the basic folds, plus illustrations for creating 30 animal models-all graded according to difficulty. Would-be practitioners of this ancient Japanese art can begin with a sailboat, starfish and swan, advance to a duck, goose and snake, and complete the course with such challenging models as a penguin, rooster, apatosaurus, elephant, and camel. This volume asks only two things of paperfolders: patience and some folding money. (Even the latter is not a prerequisite. A 3" x 7" piece of paper will do!).
Dover Original, in association with Antroll Publishing Company. 30 models. Numerous line diagrams. 120pp. 8 1/2" x 11". June 2000, Paperbd.
