The tale of the legendary King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table is filled with heroic adventures, intrigue, and magic. Tom Tierney’s splendid paper doll collection spotlights this mystical ruler, his wife, and eight other figures during his reign. In addition to depicting Arthur as a child, young man, and in old age, other dolls portray Merlin the magician; Igraine, Arthur’s mother; Guinevere, his wife; Lancelot, a member of the Round Table; Galahad, Lancelot’s son; Morgeuse, Arthur’s half-sister; and Mordred, their son. Period costumes include simply embellished tunics, gowns, and fur robes for the women; and armor, tunics, breeches, and capes for the men.
